The Blogging Church
You may think that I recommended a wrong book in my blog or you may think that this book is not a relevant book for blogging in marketing or online marketing at all. Obviously, you are wrong and you have to read this book.
As we know, all churches around the world always have two problems. First, budgets are limited and the second, limited access to technology know-how. Compared to business world, actually churches have much more pressure and responsibilities. The tithes and offerings of the members bear the highest responsibilities. Churches have to manage those tithes and offerings wisely in order to avoid any questionable decisions that might violate the members’ trust.
Blog is one of the latest technology tool to help churches to reach out, spread gospel and share good news over internet. Blog helps communications in between ministries as well.
From my point of view, there is no different between church blogging and company blogging. Both of them need to communicate as they need to reach out. Externally, churches need to communicate with members and Christians especially with non-Christians. Companies need to communicate with customers, suppliers and other competitors. Internally, pastors need to communicate with ministries while ministries need to communicate with the other ministries. For companies, high level of management teams need to communicate with staffs and a department needs to communicate with another department. Conversations and communications are needed everywhere and every time. For an example, Church A from Asia is able to communicate with Church B in America easily while Church C may communicate with Church D instantly. The point is communication via blog is fast, easy, casual and fun.
Imagine if your companies have great products, great marketing plans but fund or money is limited, what is the cheapest, fastest and easiest way to share to the world?? The answer is blogging.
In the book, Brian Bailey shares with us some of the strategies on how churches should blog and which can be used in business blogging as well. He also shows us how to create a bad blog. Learn from the others’ experiences so that you won’t waste your valuable time.
